Caption: Until the "Pepin cutbacks" in November 1981, the Manitoba towns of Thompson, The Pas, and Dauphin had six day per week train service to and from Winnipeg. Three days per week, train trains to Winnipeg originated in Churchill and in Thompson the other three days per week. This latter train typically ran with an F7Au, an SGU, a baggage car, a buffeteria coach, and a full coach and is seen arriving at the station in The Pas at dusk. By late morning, this train will be in Winnipeg. ("Fun facts": the photographer arrived in The Pas on the tri-weekly Railiner from Saskatoon and missed photographing the tri-weekly mixed from Lynn Lake which had already arrived!)
