The engineer is keeping his eye on the headend brakeman as they spot hoppers at the Redwater elevators. That will be the 4232 to the left. It is just after 11:00 and it was another beautiful Fall day. A few days after this, the 9173 will lead the 5513, bringing loaded hoppers home in the evening.

  1. Nice shot. I see someone took the time to paint the shark fin antenna and bell mounting nut white! :-)

  2. That is a good point Paul. The 4285 was repainted in the last year or two before this photo. The fin on its roof is black. The bell is a head scratcher. :-)

  3. The 9173 makes a much nicer leader.
