Just east of Haney in Maple Ridge, CP’s mainline crosses Kanaka Creek at mileage 101.5, and the generally smooth water surface provides reflecting opportunities. As seen on Monday 1989-08-07 at 1004 PDT, VIA No. 1 powered by VIA 6307 + 6602 + 6603 was about half an hour behind scheduled time, still with 30 miles to Vancouver.
