Caption: A spectacular blaze that all started with a grass fire, about seven warehouses went up in flames next to the CNR Oakville yard on April 25, 1978. My dad took us to see it (from a distance of course), and I remember watching huge steel drums of chemicals blasting into the air! Even a fire engine was lost on the Chartwell side of the road. Here is CN engine 7020 assisting crews to and from the site. I could just imagine the heat coming from that fire...
