Cando's back up switcher is in the process of running around their tank cars (out of frame) having just completed their switch of the chemical sheds at Dryden's Domtar Mill. Usually they run with a single GP38-2, but that unit has been down for a number of months and this former CN switcher has been tasked with handling the switching.

    Those spark arrestors look really tall. I know CN did a rebuild and went to the orignal stacks. So was this a rebuild for Cando?

    Not too sure Brad. Looking at http://www.trainweb.org/oldtimetrains/shortlines/CANDO.htm and scrolling down to the 1008 there are links to photo’s of it’s more recent history including a stop at LDS. Maybe something was done there but it looks the same to me…. I’ve never been much of a rivet counter. =)
