While stopped by the old Ernestwon station many years ago and getting a few pictures of the stone structure there, I was rather hoping for some rail activity, but it was all quiet. So I sat in the car for a minute, checking out my map ..... and suddenly heard a noise. It was the Budds, I'll bet doing close to 80 MPH and I was not quick enough. This is all I could get, but it will have to do. Camera was set at 500th/sec and still, the Budds are blurred.
I understand the station is still in situ, being designated a heritage building in 1994. The building, constructed around 1855, is similar to others at Port Hope, Prescott and St. Marys Jct.
Ernestown is mile 187.7 on the Kingston Sub, three miles east of Bath; the community it was originally built to serve.
