Great pic. I live near the Havelock close to Agincourt Yard. Would you happen to know what the track speed of the Havelock is?
Hi ngineered4u, I have no inside knowledge of CP’s operations. However I do believe there a slow order (20mph?) on most if not all of the Havelock Sub. If VIA goes through with their plans to bring back passenger service, I would expect the entire subdivision will have to be completely rebuilt. Have a look at this photo to get an idea of the track condition. http://www.railpictures.ca/?attachment_id=48053
@tonybock Thanks for all the information. Its appreciated. 20mph is pretty darn slow and the trip must take all day.
Only time will tell if these tracks will get another life or the tracks get torn up. Fingers crossed
In recent years they’ve had a 10mph blanket slow order over the entire Havelock and Nephton subs. The trips running Toronto>Havelock and Havelock>Toronto typically take around 8 hours to complete, with some runs having a crew change in Peterborough.
