Caption: The station agent has the orders hooped as the westbound CP slows down; apparently there was work in town. This scene has vanished into the history books, as the station was demolished the following year, the very last train ran thru here in 2009 and the track was removed by late 2011. Thus the Ottawa Valley line became another part of railroadings dark past. In this view we see CP 6015, 5982 and 4244. Such the beautiful station at Renfrew. Sadly, the demolition of similar stations at Alimonte, Arnprior and Pembroke preceded loss of this one.

At first glance this was a head scratcher… where is that station? then I clicked the map.. oh… there….
and it’s gone , wow, sure looks nice for something about to be demolished. Back then the heritage movement hadn’t taken off and CP knew it..
Similar to a lot of your CP Niagara Falls photos from that time period, you have captured an important piece of CDN history that isn’t preserved in any other form… thanks for posting
What a shame… just goes to show how little regard CP and Canadians in general have for their historical architecture and infrastructure.
