West Toronto but more precisely “ the Junction “ has a lot of family history for me. My father was raised on Miller Street, which backs onto one of the legs of the wye. He fondly remembers after school time being spent on top of the Old Western Road overpass, often getting a face full of coal dust as the train passes below. Trips to see family in Harriston always started a Mr the beautiful West Toronto station, sadly long demolished now. His father worked on the steam engines inside the old shop that once sat at west Toronto. For me trips to west Toronto don’t happen that often, all family is gone there now and most of the old decent Railfaning spots are either gone or off limits. This day I was in the are scoping out my dads old neighbourhood so also headed over to Osler to see if anything was around. On arrival o saw a CP van backing around the east leg of the wye si took a few photos. On the head end there was a pair of fresh looking GP9U’s. Once clear of the signals they headed into Lambton yard. I’m not sure if the actually worked industries off the North Toronto or simply wyed their train.
