TH&B 53 is an NW-2 from EMD in LaGrange, IL with serial number 5705, built in January of 1948. It was sold to Atlas Specialty Steel in Welland, ON for scrap in May of 1988. I captured it around the Aberdeen Yard complex back in the summer of 1974.

  1. Nice looking Class lights.

  2. See those lamps?

They are now in Guelph donated by a former employee. We (www.ghra.ca) have 4 or 6 of them.

  3. I see they were plugged in and not hard wired! Very neat!

  4. They are oil lamps modified by TH&B Forces to electricity. Considering these were probably converted in the late 1940′s… the lamps themselves are otherwise quite dated in age.
