Caption: While the future for the TH&B's old Geep fleet was bright, it was not so for the TH&B's NW2 and SW9 units. CP deemed they did not fit in to their motive power plans due to age and low horsepower, and as a result they were retired and sold off. Most ended up being sold to Atlas Steel for scrap, where some were resold and others scrapped. Here, former TH&B SW9 56 and NW2's 54, 53 (with all lettering patched out) are sitting at Welland with CP GP9u 8205, likely the unit doing the honors of taking them to their final fate. All three had been retired in 1987, and sold for scrap in 1988. Unlike other units that ended up at second owners, all three here weren't so lucky and were ultimately scrapped.
