I took my kids to Comic Con on the 26'th and after lining up to see William Shatner I went to my own event as the only participant of the 'con to do so. I was nerding out, not really because of the comic stuff, that was for my kids, but for what's surrounding the place as you see pictured :) Ticket in hand to be on the grounds, I took whatever photos I could given that I usually don't have much time for it when I'm visiting Toronto. Just as #2 departed a GO train came eastward with an old cab car and ended up in the perfect spot for a photo as they both moved past each other. At the far right is VIA Train 47 waiting to depart for Mimico after letting everyone off, a true 'three train' meet. I'd have to head back in soon as we had our next event lined up and I had to find my kids in that smelly godforsaken place that, well, everyone surprisingly had fun at. This was *my* souvenir for the day though :)

  1. Great picture Stephen, not often you see a three trains with different paint schemes. Just to clarify, the Canadian train is #2 from Vancouver, having unloaded all its passengers and is proceeding to VIA TMC in Mimico – correct ? Thanks for posting, John

  2. Just missed you that day ;-)

  3. Yes John headed to tmc.

  4. Great capture Stephen! The Canadian is a special train. Let’s hope it gets reequipped with brand new rolling stock as Amtrak is planning with their long distance fleet!

  5. @railwayguy I believe VIA Canadian #1 is Toronto-Vancouver and VIA Canadian #2 is Vancouver-Toronto

  6. Michael also just missed you, the schedule of Comic Con was quite the feat – didn’t know what I would be able to do until the day of….

it was a busy but rewarding day for all.

  7. “that smelly godforsaken place that, well, everyone surprisingly had fun at.” Sounds like a model train show lol
