CN #589 creeps up to the elderly bridge over the Mississippi River outside Galetta, Ontario. The train had to wait for workers to clear the bridge. The bridge is undergoing an extensive overhaul, which bodes well for the future of service on this line.

This is the last remaining piece of the Ottawa, Arnprior, & Parry Sound Railway, which still connects its first two namesakes.

  1. Well, you got me with this one. I had never heard of Galetta. So this is my geography lesson for today. Nice image. Much better than waiting for the train to get on the bridge. Cheers!!
