Caption: Meet on the SRT: two trains of UTDC ICTS cars meet on the Scarborough Rapid Transit line ("Line 3") in Toronto's east end during its first year in operation: TTC 3017 trails a set of eastbound cars, heading northbound into the CN Uxbridge Sub underpass tunnel north of Ellesmere station, as 3007 leads a westbound train south into the station. One can see the CN line on the right (is ran alongside the SRT for a stretch, and when the SRT was built it cut off a few CN customers on the west side of the tracks).
Built in the early-mid 80's with the Ontario government's insistence on using their new Intermediate Capacity Transit System (halfway between a streetcar and a subway), the aging, orphan transit line in set to close in late 2023 and be replaced with buses until the new replacement Scarborough subway extension is opened.
