This was one of those locations that was a must on any Newtonville trip, at least for photographing CP. The twin wooden bridges east of Newtonville allowed access to both CN and CP with a nice open shot for eastbounds. Unfortunately the dirt road was little used and when a stack train damaged the CN bridge it was never replaced. A few years later the CP bridge was removed eliminating access to the hill in between the two lines cutting off railfan access. I loved this angle here and unfortunately only got to try it a few times. A zoom lens here created nice images of a CP train snaking through the area. Here a CP and SOO SD40 have an intermodal train in tow as they head eastward.
