One of the drawbacks about hanging out at the old Dundas station was the fact eastbound trains in the late
afternoon posed a terrible sun angle for shooting. But, what the heck, might as well kill the last couple of hours of the day while here. In about as harsh as shadows can get, CN 3109 and two other units are caught running eastbound. I missed the last two numbers as well as not recording the train number, but looking at the sun angle here I am going to guess it was #76.

  1. Awww…..its not THAT bad Arnold! Always great to see Dundas station. Still a great photo!!!

  2. Was Mr Mercer there on duty?? Bruce

  3. No, Bruce; I think he had fled the coup by then and was down in St. Thomas. (Chessie)

  4. The washed out sky actually preserved the rest of the scene here. Not bad at all. Second unit is probably 4016 or 4017, the 2 passenger geared GP40s. Love the fence posts made of rail. The yellow painted ones near stations were so common and now I think most if not all are gone.

  5. Thanks, Jacob. If I had ever known what the “X” on th4 station represented, I have long forgotten.
