This photo connects with my last post. The crew has finished gathering up the cars from the elevator track and are now going to go light engine down the siding and park across from the Redwater Hotel. Their train is sitting on the main, also parked right across from the hotel. The time is 16:45 and in about an hour, having dined on a fine supper, they will connect back onto the train and proceed to Gibbons. I should mention they were using cab 79305. While watching them switch and dig the cars out from the elevator track, you got the feeling the crew enjoyed driving the 9167 around.

  1. A fabulous capture! Almost like the crew parked the power at that very spot for the perfect photo opportunity. That fully ballasted and well-groomed track section is impressive.

  2. Nice. You don’t see crews stopping to take a lunch break in a restaurant much these days. Maybe take out..

  3. Thank you for the comments. :-)
The track was impressive, you could see how much smoother the trains traveled. No more visible dipping or riding up of cars because of rough track. I’m the sure the smooth ride was enjoyed by the running crews too.
The hotel in town was a fav stop for work trains. No doubt, a few barley sandwiches disappeared also. :-)

  4. Another incredible shot from the Coronado !

  5. I don’t think I have posted a shot of the Coronado sign, I will look into that. :-)
    Thanks Mr. K.

  6. Beautiful!

  7. Thank you bcr_766, all these comments keep a guy waking up in the morning with a smile on his face. Keeps the desire alive to sit and clean some more dust specks off of photos for posting. Many thanks :-)

To be honest, I can’t wait for next April Fools posting day fun. :-D

  8. I can’t wait for the next April Fools… I love it that people are thinking this far out for it :)
