Caption: Train 501 is seen here highballing at Scotchmere Drive, just outside of Strathroy, Ontario. 501 started out in Garnet Yard, south of Hagersville. It took nearly no time at all getting through to London. The lead unit was the main attraction for this train that day. BCOL 4644 is one of three remaining active GE C44-9WL locomotives from the original BC Rail roster, and one of two active in the original paint scheme. The rock lights were activated on this trip, which can be a rare sight in 2022 - however no longer sporting it's K5L horn. With the recent retirement of the Dash 8 series, these Canadian cab units can be considered the elders of the six axle CN fleet now.
