Houses along Parkside Drive can be seen at left with what is now the St. Thomas Curling Club beyond the L&PS coal hopper.Designed primarily for the export market, the L&PS was the only domestic buyer of the 1310hp GMD G-12 with two units on their roster. The L4 built in 1955 and shortly after, the L5 in 1957. Both would continue in service on the CN roster after the L&PS purchase on January 1, 1966 becoming 991 and 992.
