Shrouded in mystery….hope they are a good looking bunch…nice capture
Presently just painted fully white…we can hope that NSC paints them since they have that ability.
This may be a dumb question but why ship them under wraps ?
I’m with Aitch, why the tarps and why so many new switchers for NSC????????
Did NSC buy them or just lease these units?
Tarps for graffiti.
They run two switching crews simultaneously. There’s two functional and one non-functional centrecab on site as it is.
jknott86 – thanks for that info; I completely gapped on the concept of graffiti.
Not many Sw1001′s built, maybe ex-BN’s
NiagaraMike11- They’re former Korean National Railway units. http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1341208
I believe they may have previously worked on the Korea National Railway prior to going to NRE
Thanks guys for all the comments.
Any sighting yet??
no still inside
Are they still inside somewhere?? Bruce
As far as I know, yes. I haven’t been out much in recent weeks/months, though. But this is the kind of thing that word would get back on quick.
I was there Thursday and the GE’s were toiling away as usual.
