How nice it was to have a toasty caboose when working in weather such as this. The 5510, 4347 and 5506 have 40 loads of grain and some empty gons headed back to Calder yard. Photo taken at mile 23.8 at 10:40, shot at f11, 1/125 sec, with 50mm.

  1. Great capture of winter railroading. I can feel the cold.

  2. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  3. Looks like you’re getting a friendly wave from the upstairs tail end brakeman or conductor as well. :-)

  4. Thanks fellows.
Almost without exception, it does this every winter. I scratch my head as to why so many people have chosen to move to Edmonton. Not the nicest of winters. :-)

  5. Nice winter caboose photo.

  6. Best reason to have maintained cabooses on freight trains.

  7. I vote yes to having trains maintained again by cabooses. :-)
Thanks for your comment Jason. :^)
