CP’s E&N had a direct connection to Crofton, known to CP as Crofthill, from a junction at Osborn Bay, but in later years it was used only when various marine difficulties made the rail ferry option unavailable.

This is very cool! A little bit of internet map use reveals that this plant is still served by rail-barge today (or at least was quite recently), although the E&N connection is severed. I wonder what is doing the switching now – it would be great if someone could “time machine” this!
It’s still rail served and they have two locomotives on the property. Access is very difficult to achieve but there seems to be one vantage point available.
