Caption: Evening’s waiting at Wolverton on the Galt Subdivision during the 90’s had their quiet times. However, if you timed it right a meet between two trains often was fairly possible depending on the flow of active trains on the line at the time. Unlike today, there were usually plenty of mainline trains between London and Toronto on the subdivision.
Here we see an eastbound waiting patiently in the hole with GP9u 8237, SD40-2 5480 and GP9u 8211 as a westbound with SD40-2’s 5661 and 5606 blasts by heading to London with a friendly wave from the conductor. In 1994, the CPRS paint scheme was only a year old and both 5606 and 5480 were very freshly repainted.
