Caption: CN 327 with a pair of CSX’s finest GE’s crosses the Larocque Lift Bridge in Valleyfield PQ, hauling freight that’s destined for Syracuse’s Dewitt Yard. When the train gets to the crew change point at location point ‘Whites’, they get told a 326 is not coming due to no crew being available. So they’ll drop off all their freight at the Whites Siding, till the next day when new engines can take it state side, and these engines (as seen in the photo) will continue to Coteau and then head to Montreal’s Taschereau Yard as 326, after they uncouple their cars from the consist.

Very interesting picture Jake and informative caption. Did not realize this bridge accommodated bot road and rail traffic. How did you get the picture as there doesn’t appear to be a sidewalk ? Thanks for posting, John
@railwayguy Thanks John. I took the picture standing on the other side of the guard rail, on the embankment on the other side of the bridge.
Whew, wasn’t sure if you were endangering your self with the on coming car traffic, or whether you swam out and climbed up clinging to the bridge railing. It is a striking picture, and that appears to be a massive lift bridge in the background – again thanks for posting, John

Just yesterday I was thinking of how I’ve never seen any pictures of this location… and here it is.
I found it on Google maps and street view a few weeks ago.
I believe there are signals protecting both ends.
There’s a few pictures on here Alex, this is probably the 10th or 15th shot of this bridge on the site.
I love google maps and street view – makes scoping shots out much easier.
