Caption: A photo for folks who have been to this location, and I trust there have been many, but you wouldn't know it if you stood here. The spur at right is the CP Welland Industrial Spur, which leads to the former CASO or whats left of it in Welland downtown. Behind me was the crossing of the Welland Subdivision with the Canada Southern/NYC/PC, which was effectively abandoned here around 1972. Basically, this would have been a photographers magnet back in the day, with interlocking towers, buildings, stations.. now it's just another strip mall. Literally, almost nothing of interest. The CP Welland industrial lead is presently out of service. Perhaps Vesuvius is done?

Vesuvius is still receiving a couple of NS covered shorty hoppers every month.
They sometimes shut down for maintenance for a bit in summer.
Nice. Thanks.
Wonderful composition.
Managed to catch them twice to Vesuvius this year and they’re is usually always NS bays rolling around so I’d assume it’s done frequently, just goes undocumented for the most part.
I’d second that. It’s at minimum weekly I’d say. As Matthew says goes undocumented. Just no one has the patience to follow Trillium around all day in hopes of catching it and rightfully so – it can be slower than paint drying most times. I caught it last Fall – was around for something else and happened to hear them mention it over the radio.
