At Australian Creek at mileage 364.3 and between Kersley and Alexandria, the British Columbia Railway bypassed their maintenance-intensive timber trestle with a fill and a culvert, creating a notable dip in the track profile.  Train number 34 from Prince George on Thursday 1978-10-05 had all-MLW/ALCo power, 703+804 on the headend and remotes 730+702+RCC1, and is seen here notching-out at the bottom of the dip at 1631 PDT.

  1. Remarkable!!! Excellent choice of location and quite the slice of history. I recall seeing #703 in Buffalo, retired and sold to GE back in 1990. I always regret not having the time back then to see these behemoths in action.
