In recent days it seems that H24 has been working Streetsville first then heading to Hornby to work the transfer facility at the old “Expressway “ yard. Fir what ever reason, possibly time, the train has been leaving its train on the branch at Streetsville and heading straight home after working Hornby, typically heading back with only tank cars. On this fourth of July, just before noon former GP40X, now rebuilt GP38 #4522 and a GP20ECO have 31 tank cars in tow as the lean into the curve at the Mississauga Road crossing.

  1. Do you know how often they switch the plant north of the 401 on the spur in Streetsville?

  2. More recently seems to be once or twice a week. Monday was a somewhat regular day for it but haven’t caught them early enough lately to tell.

  3. How many cars do they usually take each way when they go up there? Is there a specific time they usually leave Streetsville to switch the plant?

  4. It varies when I have caught them, usually 3-5 hopper cars and sometimes a boxcar. Only the customer on the west side is switched. The spur on east side hasn’t been switched in several years, and has a new owner now.

  5. I noticed he retuned to Lambton with only tank cars the other day. Great engineer giving the horn with a friendly wave.
