Caption: When I first heard rumours that CP was planning to buy the CMQ and retake their line towards Saint John, New Brunswick, I dismissed it as something that would never happen. Why would CP want a line that only generated enough traffic for one through freight each way per day? Well, seeing a 100% intermodal CP 223 crossing the St. Lawrence River (with 137 platforms per an OS) was impressive and shows that it seems to have been a very worthwhile purchase for CP, with business booming (intermodal in particular). It sounds like soon there will be both an intermodal and a manifest pair of trains, once CP has enough crews. In the meantime, CP is running DPUed trains and having to leave traffic behind.
Power on this CP 223 is CP 7030, CP 8806 & CP 8781 and the train is about to pass Lasalle Station

Very nice Michael, interesting to hear about the increase in traffic to/from Saint John NB. Is there a Lasalle platform serving the track train 233 is on ? Thanks for posting, John
Thanks. Yes, there is a shorter platform on the other side, though trains in both directions usually only use the platform at left.
Very nice.
and oh!…last time I was on the La Salle platform, capturing on Ektachrome: Amtrak train #68 the Adirondack operated by the D & H on behalf of Amtrak, powered by ALCO PA’s, as seen at Westmount:
