Caption: One of the two morning joint NYC/TH&B/CPR trains from New York, 322 or 324 per the 1959 timetable, departs Sunnyside for the short run into Toronto and the end of the journey. CPR G3G Pacific 2399 leads the train. Built by CLC in 1942, it will be scrapped in 1961. Over 60 years later and traffic is just as backed up today as it is at left.

Note the white extra flags and absence of the usual baggage car and TH&B coaches, indicating that it might a 2nd section. Nice picture, thanks for posting.

Bruce, judging from the trees in the background, doesn’t look like Easter, and no fall colours, but who knows. Looking at the eastbound line up of cars on the Gardiner, it must be a weekday morning rush hour – maybe a July 4 US long weekend special.
