Caption: I have to admit I’ve never been a big end cab switcher fan, I’ve always found the larger four axle units more interesting. Over the years CN and CP’s SW1200’s did kind of grown on me, but mainly due to the fact their numbers were shrinking fast by the time I seriously pick up a camera. On the OSR I’d rather catch any other units as well, but with 2 sets of SW1200’s running on Friday we made the most of it. I have to admit they did put on a good show and 1245 looks great in full OSR paint. Here a pair of SW1200’s round the curve at the small yard in Ingersol with a cut of potash hoppers destined for Putnum. Near the Cami plant the power split and 1249 chased the tail end to Putnum only to rejoin the other unit for the light power trip back to Ingersol. The crew laughed at us as they passed asking if we had any idea why they made that move. Honestly I still have no idea, LOL.

I would guess so they could switch from the east end of the sidings, and there wasn’t an open track to run around their train at Putnam.
