While GIO railway was performing the last revenue movements on the remainder of the Owen Sound Sub, something else caught my eye. A rare early morning 568 move (or westbound freight in general) from Kitchener straight shot to Stratford.

I was in fact on my way to check out the GIO move when I drove by the Kitchener yard, and saw this 4-pack just finishing up their shove move to grab the conductor in the Kitchener siding. This was odd as usually any train switching the west end that early, ends up moving to the east end and going to Shantz and/or Guelph/Acton. But once I saw the conductor getting on board, and the huge train of mixed cars for HCL, GEXR, Kellys and more, I knew something different was up. So I stuck around and took advantage of the chance, and knocked some shots off my list west of Kitchener in the nice morning light. Here's one of them just between Kitchener and Petersburg.

Also not sure if this was and extra or not, but they called themselves 568 on the radio.

  4. Thanks Jason. I like this spot, in fact there is a new building of some sort (maybe a security shed) just to the left of the driveway now since this shot. Its nice to frame with
