Normally assigned to passenger trains to Thompson and/or Churchill, today two of the F7Au locomotives based in Winnipeg have drawn a work train assignment, probably for the Prairie Branchline Rehabilitation program that was going on at the time (note the side-dump cars). On their way back to Symington, these units are passing the VIA station and CN's Prairie Region offices. In the background, you can see buildings from the East Yard which at one time hosted extensive team track and express facilities and still had VIA's coach in the early 1980s. Today, the area east of the Station is The Forks market.
