Awesome
Very nice photo. I believe that caboose spent a time in Kitchener during the 90′s as well.
Thanks Jamie and Jason.
I wish I could remember where I saw the 79836 myself. Not sure if it was this site or another, it was in a deadline of cars, somewhere in the east. The photo was 90′s as well. Although looking rather beat up, it still had “assigned to 584″ on the side. Seemed a sad end after 20+ years of going back and forth to eastern Alberta.
Photography disguised as artwork framed by Wild Rose Country
Thank you for the most generous comment and I’m a Wild Rose lover myself.
A most beautiful and scenic type image with some rare beasts!!! I am rather surprised at how poorly that paint on 1052 has held up since I shot it in Winnipeg, green and gold, back in 1974……..only 13 years previous.
Many thanks Arnold. I checked out your photo of the 1052. It had the old style number boards, like the 1073 in this photo, which I really like. The numerals under the cab window look a lot more elegant also. I looked a little further into the 1052, you noted on your photo it was re-built into the 1419. I found photos of the 1419 still working in Winnipeg in October of 2019. Kind of neat, it was back where your photo was taken, yet, 45 years later.
