Caption: In October of 2021, myself & my father ventured up to the Sudbury area, primarily in hopes of catching the Levack turn; a Nickel ore job run by the CP which goes from Sudbury to Levack & back apparently every weekday. For whatever reason, both mornings we were up there, the train simply just did not run. What did run however was this CWR train from Cartier Yard, set to dump rail along the Cartier Sub near Levack. Unbeknownst to me at the time, the arrangement of this train was nothing short of silly. The caboose & MOW crew were on the south end of the train, and the power on the north end, with both units facing south and the engineer operating inside the 6013. We had caught up to the train alongside HWY 144 near Onaping Falls but had only seen the rear of it where the caboose & MOW crew were. Later when I heard RTC call the "6013 North" and instructed them to take the Levack siding for a pair of southbounds, my face lit up to the idea of shooting an SD40 leader up in this beautiful scenery. Could this be my redemption for not getting the ore train? The short answer; not really. When I saw the ass-end of 6259 round the corner ahead, the optimism went right out the window. But now looking back it was still a hell of an experience to get up there, and I'd do it again in a heartbeat.
