Westward from Medicine Hat, CP climbs out of the South Saskatchewan River valley to Redcliff and crosses under highway 1 at mile 3.8, my photo perch on Monday 1974-09-30 for train No. 965 with “four nickels” SD40 5555 and C-424 4248 and C-636 4728, with the petrochemical facility at Cousins in the distance.  Today, no poles and no fence.
