Caption: This has been quite a trip for 141. It left Agincourt Yard in Toronto yesterday afternoon and went as far as Milton (Hornby to be specific) before tying down for 26 hours. With the end of the lockout, CP resumed operations at noon, and a crew was called to taxi over and finish the trip to London.
Murphy had to inject a little sport into this. Today's crew arrived to find problems with the SBU; perhaps why they gave up yesterday. Rumour has it that the conductor had to walk to the tailend, make a repair and return before it finally got underway at dinnertime.
So where do you go to catch a once in a lifetime consist where you're also racing the setting sun? I gambled that there would be enough light left at Galt's bridge over the Grand River...where the ice has just gone out, and it's running about 18 inches higher than normal. Hard to believe a consist like this may soon be common...but not today.
