Anyone who knows Bayview walkbridge area will understand that going under the Plains Rd bridge to escape the searing heat from the August sun is not the place to be when a westbound CN comes along with a lot of power. It happened. I shot a print and watched all this power roll by; and realized I had shot my last frame. But, I had the Speed Graphic with me. So, after a struggle with traffic getting out of the Botanical Gardens area, I went after this overloaded #493 but could not think of anywhere to go as the Graphic had almost a "landscape" lens and it just wasn't going to work with a head on shot. So, I ended up all thew way out past Paris West, and just barely had time to get this shot off. This train was really moving. CN 9652, 5335, 2007, 2316, 2314, 9404, 2324, 2323 and 2029. Geez!!!

  1. Where the heck is Falkland?? Never heard of it

  2. Its a “slow-down” zone on Hwy 2 half way between Paris and Princeton. A long time ago it used to be a decent community.

  3. A zebra stripe bonanza ! They must’ve flown up the Dundas Hill. It’s a wonder you were able to get ahead of them.

  4. Geez indeed!!

  5. Ahh the glory days before HPT trains were common. Sigh! Fantastic shot!
