Caption: A rainy day in October 1973 finds TTC Peter Witt streetcar 2766 deadheading through mid-town Toronto, heading westbound on St. Clair Avenue crossing Yonge Street. The regular "Tour Tram" routing that 2766 was restored for months earlier ran around downtown streetcar trackage, so 2766 could be running a private fantrip coming from the nearby St. Clair subway station. A westbound PCC operating in regular service on the St. Clair route follows a few cars behind, and another PCC can be seen turning into St. Clair station's loop, probably a westbound from Eglinton Loop via Mount Pleasant/St. Clair.
Large office towers have since replaced both the TD Bank building at the northeast and the Super Save Drug Mart at the southeast corners. License plate afficionados, note the brand new original A-series license plate on the right: 1973 was the first year Ontario plates weren't replaced on a yearly bases (rather, they required annual sticker updates to be valid).
