The once well known railfan spot at Burlington West. I would often wait here till VIA 70 passed by before heading west. The Home Hardware wrap was a personal favourite of mine so I was glad to get it a few times before the unit got a new wrap. VIA 70 was usually a decent train back then especially on a Saturday when it would often deadhead any extra train sets in Windsor or London.

  1. Now that is the shot I wish I had gotten. It seems every time I had a chance to shoot this thing it was evasive or backlit.
Really nice. You did great with this memory.

  2. When was it repainted/rewrapped? I don’t recall shooting it but it’s in the early era of me for photography.. I may have it.. but I don’t remember if I did !

  3. I think I have been here before.

  4. According to the internet, VIA 6429 lost its Home Hardware wrap in the spring of 2002 when the locomotive was fully repainted in green for Telus Mobility.

  5. This, and the Kool-Aid one were around the same time. Very early years of rail photography for me as well. I don’t have pictures of either, just the Telus wrap and forward.
