Obviously a power move. Where were they dumping them off? Ft Erie?
I have never seen anything like it. There must be more to this story. ) I checked my log; and it makes me rather sad that I was at work that day. But what a shot!!! Wow!!! I can imagine your feeling……..
The leasers were Montreal destined. From there a number of possibilities…perhaps someone in the know…
The CP Rail Freight Train Schedules folder dated April 30, 1978 shows 916 daily origination Windsor and terminating Montreal, with Detroit traffic from Chessie and N&W, and onward Montreal connections with NJ #200 & 206 to the D&H. More Eastbound connections with MEC RY-1 at St.Johnsbury and with B&M 8904, JS-2, JS-6 at Wells River. ( B&M 8904 being an extension of the daily 904 CP Rail express originating Windsor).
