Caption: The Triple Crown service on CP was a common sight in the mid 1990s. Pictured here, eastbound at Puslinch, the train is led by the first of the "Control Cabs" (or leader cabs) converted from C-424 locomotives. In this case, the former CP 4236. The unit was de-engined. It ran with #6043, and the purpose saved the problem of having to wye the power upon the return trip, in the same manner as GO features a cab unit on one end. I am sure the crews had a rather strong dislike of these beasts. The 1100 was retired in 2004 and is now at Expo-rail.

I have videos of the Triple Crowns on CP back in 1994. Do you know when they stopped service on CP? It seemed there was a year (or years) where they switched the service over to CN. Either way, unique trains.
Someone will come up with the right answer but I thought it was 2002 when this service ended on CP.
I never had the chance to ride in the 1100s, but the guys who did said they were awful. They had the traction motors removed & they used to bounce up & down a lot.
