  1. I think this might be Paynes Mills, ON on the Paynes Sub. Taken from John Wise Line looking east. I think I found that farm in the background, and the concrete silos further back are oriented the same as those in Paynes Mills.

  2. Great photo…

…@jknott86….that farm on the background, is that a converted tower in insulbrick? If so….where did ot come from???

  3. No idea.. that tower-like structure isn’t there anymore but you can see its old foundation on Google Earth.

  4. This roll of slides from Andreas has three photos, all three are labelled Delhi Ontario.

The next five slides are taken on the same day in Shedden and St. Thomas Ontario of a CSX freight led by a pair of Seaboard units.

Then there’s a few CP shots at Thamesford, Woodstock, Guelph Junction and GO units parked there as the night falls.

It very well does seem like it is Paynes mills based on where he was concentrating his time as Delhi would have been a bit of a hike from St. Thomas.

    Alas, good sleuthing.

  5. Yeah, without those silos the location likely would have been lost forever. The way they are oriented to the track is what got me down the rabbit hole, as I couldn’t for the life of me think of anything like that in the Delhi area – past or present.

  6. LOL well I can always ask Andreas what he has in his notes :) I think you’re 100% correct though!!!

  7. If I recall correctly there was a discussion awhile back on either the St.Thomas or CASO Facebook group regarding the tower. It was an interlocking tower from somewhere.
