They wrecked the Comfort Suites? It looks rather nice. Perhaps they should have housed immigrants in it.
What replaced it?
Replaced by Gupta Group’s Dundas Square Garden, a 50-storey condo tower. During my first year at Ryerson in 2018 I lived 3 buildings up the street and watched them finishing the construction. Pretty well every building on the east side of Jarvis from Dundas to Gerrard is on a potential condo site. A few were demolished fairly recently for another tower.
Arnold: with the crazy downtown real estate prices, even some older downtown hotels are getting torn down and high-rise condos built in their place. There was another hotel to the south, The Grand, that was recently demolished.
The only hotel there safe (for now) is Filmores!
