It has been a long time since I have crossed paths with ETR steam engine 9, too long if you ask me. For a few years it seemed I was chasing it all around southern Ontario. An autumn trip up to St. Jacob's would net a scene I wanted to catch for a while in Amish country, as a group of Amish residents gathered at a crossing to watch the passage of #9. It to me creates a scene that looks like an image taken generations ago. My trips to Amish areas in Pennsylvania and Ohio years ago have netted similar images. Funny even plane spotting at Buffalo airport a few years ago created a similar image. The Waterloo Central is definitely a tourist railroad worth a visit, and today they have even more unique units than years ago.
