Thru most of the 1980s we witnessed many VIA units running with a plain nose rather than what I think was the more attractive "VIA". This is an example; VIA 6793 running westward past Bayview with what appears to be a freshly painted snout. I neglected to mark the train number on this image but by the look of it was probably the mid-afternoon number 83.

  1. That’s an interesting perspective on a fondly remembered location. It looks so different. I like it ! Definitely not repeatable today unless one is willing to risk a big fine…. or jail. :-)

  2. Yeah…………you can block the tracks by building a fire out of pallets and lumber and get away with it…..but oh, don’t you dare walk around there with a camera !!! ;o)

  3. A nice angle. I wish I got close ups of that sign.. but it was gone by around 2005 or 2006..

  4. Aitch it’s only a $550 fine :)

  5. SHC: which I’d happily pay if I could go back in time to 1986 and get a shot like this. ;-)

  6. Oh boy…don’t even start on a subject like that!!! Heck, I would have even liked to be born sooner; but then I probably would have croaked by now….. :o )
