My younger railfanning years are full of so many good memories of spending hours with railman friends at so many of the old wooden bridges Wirth great scenery and interesting motive power from all railroads. Today VIA traffic seems to dominate most trains on most trips with little variety, while the scenery is still beautiful, many of my old haunts are now gone with the removal of a number of old bridges along the line. Time rolls on and one has to make the most of what is handed to them. It seems that today many of the trains rolling through the area are dominated by 1+1 DPU consists. In this case even the VIA train almost looks like a DPU set up, but obviously not the case. Stephenson Road is still a favourite location for me and my boys when in the Newcastle/Lovekin area. The fading autumn colours certainly helped make the shot.
