A quintessential Canadian scene. Fall colours, or what is left of them, surround CP 100 as it passes Spiers Lake north of Bala on a cold fall morning. Rocks, trees, and waters are everywhere north of Toronto; beautiful to look at but what a challenge to build a railroad in the 1880's. Outside of the signals and recently replaced welded rail, this is exactly how it looked then....OK, the stacks and GE are a little newer as well.
