Caption: The 5580, 5503 and 5589 are going to tie into 50 loads of sulphur as soon as they clear the trestle. By the time they reach main street in Redwater (2.5 miles from here), progress will be down to less than 15mph. It will be another couple of miles until the units have the train back up to speed. Caboose 79392 was at the rear. Also, what looks to be brake smoke is dust from freshly applied and spread ballast. This photo was taken with Kodachrome 25 at 1/500th. I made no entry for aperture, which must have been close to wide open (50mm, f/1.4). Imagine being track side using iso25, could present challenges.

that’s awesome
Thanks Jamie.
I find it quite amazing how these scanned images can actually compete with pictures I have taken with my old D200. They are in the same ball park for sure.
A real beauty … as sharp as anything on this site, nice venue to boot ! Thanks for sharing
I thought this was much more modern
Then I looked closer. Wow. And 5500′s before the 5500′s came to be. Come and gone too.
Thanks Mr. Klauker and Mr. Host.
That 25asa film has almost no grain, it also imitates large ships, anything but nimble.
