Caption: The morning CP Dayliners, Budds 9112-9020 roll toward Hamilton from Toronto; en route to Buffalo on a rather nice softly lit early morning. The view is from underneath the McQuesten High Level bridge which connects Hamilton with Aldershot. Passenger service from Toronto to Buffalo and return daily was bound by agreement over CP/TH&B until April 25, 1981; when this train ceased to exist. For most of us at the time, it was just another passenger train to view as it passed @0930 while waiting for interesting freights. :o)
In the photo, the double track line to Niagara is on the right, and in the background Hamilton Jct where CP and CN lines split. Configuration has all changed in the past few years as the area has been beefed up for the future GO service to Niagara Falls; which, we are told, will happen some day.

This is nice. Amazing it was double track connected even then.
My uncle Cecil Preston designed the paint scheme for these RDC’s. He had previous service in the Navy, and told me his design was based on paint schemes he saw during his Navy career. He then went on to do different paint schemes for the VIA rail equipment. That was in the 1970′s.
VERY interesting, and something to be proud of !!!
Yes! And if you have any documents or photos detailing this there will / are museums that would be interested in how the scheme came to be!
