Really interesting perspective ! Out of curiosity, when and why did A401/402 become L501/502 ?
They changed back in May. It has to do with CN metrics and how trains are profiled. Being an L series train allows them to do some aspects of the job differently vs being an A series.
Thanks for the info. I wondered if it had something to do with the amount of work done along the route.
I ca remember going to the old mill at Christmas You tuned the car radio to a FM station and gave you a light show with music.
The amount of work hasn’t overtly changed, they still start at Sarnia and work London along the way. The biggest difference is they stopped bringing power for 434 from Sarnia each day. But this change occurred before the number change.
I used to go and visit the mill yearly for thst light show! Even to do the interactive snowball fight between snowmen out front on the grass. Unfortunately they don’t do that here any more. But a new location is in the works!
